His camp signalled that the winger would be interested in making the move to Bavaria, and indicated there would be no issue in sorting out contract details and the salary. Everything seemed straightforward from the player's side.

But Liverpool's response was brutal in its simplicity. Bayern were given a very clear signal when they knocked on the door at Anfield that there would be no time or reason for talks. The conversation was over before it started.

The Reds' unwavering stance stems from their genuine belief in Ngumoha's potential.
